Cops respond to gunshot reports

Evanston police checked out two neighborhoods last night after receiving reports of gunshots heard. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Criminal Damage

1400 Oak

A window was damaged at a home in the 1400 block of Oak Avenue around 6:15 a.m. today.

1400 Grey

Someone damaged bulbs in the garage of a home in the 1400 block of Grey Avenue between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. yesterday.

Criminal Trespass

1512 Greenwood

Thomas V. Tobbe, 25, address unknown, was arrested at 1512 Greenwood Street at 9:20 a.m. yesterday and charged with criminal trespass to real property. He is due in court on June 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Other

1454 Elmwood

Isaias Mercado-Gomez, 40, of 1940 Ashland Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 9:15 a.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He is due in court on June 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Shots Heard

Dempster at Dodge

Gunshots were reported near Dempster Street and Dodge Avenue at 2:26 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Hartrey at Noyes

Gunshots were reported near Hartrey Avenue and Noyes Street at 12:25 a.m. today. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

1700 Orrington

A bicycle that was locked to a bike rack in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue was stolen around 6 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law.
