Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin  this afternoon announced that he’s cancelling two meetings designed to help residents appeal their property tax assessments because of concerns about the coronavirus.

The sessions were to have been held Wednesday at the Evanston Public Library and Thursday, March 12, at the Levy Center.

And instead of having taxpayers come to his office on Green Bay Road for assistance, he’s asking that residents call or email the office for help.

The phone number is 847-864-1209 and the email address to contact is anewman@suffredin.org.

The deadline for filing property tax appeals is Monday, March 30.
