The Evanston City Council holds a special meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. to get a report on proposals for capital improvement projects the city’s managers believe should be funded.

With the city facing declining revenues and increased costs for public safety pensions and other programs City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz has tried to cut back on capital projects this year and there’s been some debate among aldermen about whether the right priorities have been set.

No advance information had been provided as of this noon about the details for the report to be presented tonight.

The capital plan typically provides funding for projects ranging from sewer improvements and street paving to park renovations.
