A resident of the 300 block of Asbury discovered a guy trying to break into a home during the noon hour Tuesday by removing a air conditioner from the window.

After being confronted by the resident, the burglar decided to settle for the air conditioner itself and ran off with that.

The apparently athletic thief is described as a male black, 19 to 20 years of age, 6-foot tall and 180-pounds wearing a red t-shirt and black shorts.

About 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night a man told police that a man he knew and another guy threatened him with a gun and stole his cash, shoes and some clothes. The incident happened near the intersection of Church Street and Darrow Avenue.

The suspects were both described as black males wearing white t-shirts and jeans. One was 25 to 27 years old, 5-foot-6-inches tall and 190 pounds. The other was a bit younger, taller and thinner at 23 to 25 years old, 6-foot tall and 160 pounds.

In other crime news, somebody stole the tip jar from the Starbucks at 528 Dempster St. just before lunch time Tuesday, and three bicycles disappeared from a yard, a garage and an alley around town.
