It was a busy weekend for Evanston police with three DUI arrests, three burglaries near campus and three thefts of booze from the downtown Target. Here are the details.

Battery

1700 Sherman
Dennis O. Wallace, 20, 129 Elmwood Ave., was arrested at 1724 Sherman Ave. at 10:29 a.m. Friday and charged with battery. He’s due to appear in court at 9 a.m. Nov. 13.

Burglary

1300 Washington
Currency, clothing and other items were stolen from an unlocked 2008 GMC parked on the street in the 1300 block of Washington Street between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8:08 a.m. Friday.

1000 Sheridan
Someone kicked in the door of a residential garage in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road between 8 p.m. Friday and 8:50 a.m. Saturday but nothing was taken.

1100 Garnett
Someone accessed an apartment through an unlocked door and stole a laptop computer in the 1100 block of Garnett Place between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday.

900 Hamlin
Someone accessed a single family home through an unlocked door and stole a wallet and bag containing a tablet and laptop computer in the 900 block of Hamlin Street between 8 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

1100 Foster
Someone accessed an apartment through an unlocked door and stole cash, credit cards and a laptop computer in the 1100 block of Foster Street between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.

200 Elmwood
Someone accessed a 2016 Volkswagen parked on the street in the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue through an unlocked door between 8 a.m. Oct. 9 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday but nothing was taken.

Criminal damage to property

900 Crain
The side mirror of a 2017 Subaru was damaged while parked on the street in the 900 block of Crain Street between 11 a.m. Friday and 3:26 p.m. Saturday.

800 Davis
The gate of a parking garage was damaged in the 800 block of Davis Street between 10:30 a.m. and 12:54 p.m. Sunday.

1700 Dempster
A glass storm door was broken on a single family home in the 1700 block of Dempster Street at 2:42 a.m. Sunday.

1400 Chicago
Someone broke the windshield of a 2013 Honda while it was parked in an apartment parking space in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue between noon Oct. 7 and noon Saturday.

600 Howard
Graffiti was left on a building in the 600 block of Howard Street at 1:11 p.m. Saturday.

Driving under the influence

400 Asbury
Tenzin L. Langchung, 43, 6437 N. Leavitt in Chicago, was arrested at 418 Asbury Ave. at 9:38 pm. Sunday and charged with driving under the influence. He’s due in court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 13.

500 Dempster
Joshua Anthony Rios, 21, 414 North Ave. in Waukegan, was arrested at 522 Dempster St. at 9:12 p.m. Sunday and charged with driving under the influence.

1300 Rosalie
Philip J. Steik, 33, 1606 Sierra Highlands Drive in Plainfield, was arrested at 1321 Rosalie Street at 3:21 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He’s to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29.

Man with gun

2300 Emerson
A man with a gun was reported sighted on the street in the 2300 block of Emerson Street at around 3:56 p.m. Friday. The area was checked but no one was found.

Robbery

2600 Ridge
Cash and a cell phone were stolen from a person in an alley in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue at 6:51 p.m. Sunday.

Theft

700 Seward
An unsecured bicycle was taken from an apartment common area in the 700 block of Seward Street between 6 p.m. Friday and 10:35 p.m. Sunday.

1600 Sherman
Alcohol was taken from a discount store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 6:05 p.m. Friday.

1600 Sherman
Stereo equipment was taken from a discount store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 9:35 p.m. Friday.

1200 Sheridan
Someone used the keys of a 2013 Subaru to steal it from a residential driveway in the 1200 block of Sheridan Road between midnight and 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

1600 Sherman
Alcohol was stolen from a discount store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

1600 Sherman
Alcohol was stolen from a discount store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 8:06 p.m. Saturday.

1100 Foster
Someone stole a wallet, credit cards and a laptop computer from a single family home in the 1100 block of Foster Street between 11 p.m. Saturday and 1:40 a.m. Sunday.

Brummel and Callan
Someone stole vehicle parts from a 2011 Jeep while it was parked on the street near Brummel Street and Calan Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

1700 Sherman
Idalmi J. Guzman, 41, 2715 W. Harrison in Chicago, was arrested at 1700 Sherman Ave. at 8:30 a.m. Friday and charged with retail theft. Court date: 9 a.m. Nov. 27.

Traffic

1454 Elmwood
Ashley M. Edmond, 24, 7121 N. Ridge Ave. in Chicago, was arrested at the police station 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 12:40 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. She’s to appear in court at 9 a.m. Oct. 29.


Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
