Critters seek ‘crew’ at Ecology Center

“Bernie,” a desert tortoise, is one of the critters at the Evanston Ecology Center who are looking for youngsters to help take care of them.

“Bernie,” a desert tortoise, is one of the critters at the Evanston Ecology Center who are looking for youngsters to help take care of them.

Critter Crew members sign up to visit the center once a week with an adult and help feed and take care of the center’s adopted pets.

A big part of the job is cutting up fruits and vegetables for the critters to eat.

The center is also looking for sponsors, who don’t have to be kids, to help out with the cost of the animals’ food supply.
