Red and Purple line train service was shut down during the afternoon rush hour Wednesday after a CTA crane fell off Red Line tracks near the Bryn Mawr station.

The crane fell into a nearby alley crushing a car and downing power lines.

As of early this evening Purple Line trains were only running between Linden and Howard. Red Line trains were back in service but were not stopping at the Bryn Mawr station.
