Evanston’s summer festival season launches this weekend with the 42nd edition of the Custer’s Last Stand Festival of the Arts in the Chicago-Main shopping district.

This year’s event will feature performers on three stages with music acts and “medicine show” comedy performances.

About 70,000 people are expected to attend to shop booths with a variety of art and craft items and sample a wide selection of food you can stroll with.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
