THEFT

1700 Sherman

A white male customer in the 35-45 age range asked a Starbucks employee for some samples and then proceeded to steal about $3 from the tip jar at about 7:15 p.m. Friday before he left the café, which is located in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue.

BATTERY

1640 Maple

Elo Christian Owalide, 23, of 325 Darrow Ave., was arrested at 1640 Maple Ave. at 6:33 p.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery.

BURGLARY

100 Ridge

A computer was taken from an unlocked 2018 Hyundai in the 100 block of Ridge Avenue between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 2:22 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
