Evanston/Skokie School District 65 reported today that COVID-19 cases among students and staff increased to 29 this week from 17 the week before spring break.

It was the second highest weekly total of cases since the district returned to in-person instruction earlier this year, exceeded only by the 34 reported the week of Feb. 26 and tying the 29 cases reported the week of March 5.

The district’s case counts include both new COVID positive cases among students and staff as well as students and staff who are in quarantine because either they or someone they were in close contact with either exhibited COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive for the disease.

The highest number of persons affected this week was nine at Washington School, followed by five at Chute Middle School.
