Work to complete the Davis Street improvement project in downtown Evanston is scheduled to resume Monday.
City officials say it will take about six weeks to wrap up the work — adding pavement markings, including for the protected bike lane from Ridge to Hinman avenues.
The work will require intermittent daytime no parking restrictions, but evening and night time parking will be available, except on a few nights.
Adequate alternative parking options are expected to be available on nearby streets and in the city’s downtown parking garages.
And, when the temporary daytime parking restrictions are in effect, street sweeping and neighborhood parking restrictions will be waived for a one-block radius around the construction zone.
The contractor for this street improvement project is Chicagoland Paving Contractors, Inc., 225 Telser Rd., Lake Zurich.
The project is monitored by the City’s Infrastructure & Engineering Division. Senior Project Manager Rajeev Dahal can be reached through 311.
