A new child daycare center has plans to open in a vacant storefront at 2812-2814 Central St. in Evanston.

Owners of Little Green Tree House, who operate centers in Chicago’s West Loop and Lakeview neighborhoods, have filed a special use request with the city to open at the site, which formerly housed The Great Frame Up, a custom picture framing shop that has moved to 2904 Central St.

The center’s owners, on their website, say their centers “green building details such as abundant daylight with UV filters, toxic-free paints and finishes, and Energy-Star appliances.”

The daycare center’s request is scheduled for review by the Zoning Board of Appeals on June 2.
