The Kensington School childcare chain will present revised plans for building an Evanston location at the Unity Church site on Central Street to the Design and Project Review Committee Tuesday.
Earlier plans had called for placing parking for the development in the same general location as the existing church parking lot — at the west side of the property.
But that idea drew opposition from neighbors living along Central Street, who feared an increase in traffic.
The new plans put the parking lot on the east side of the property, close to the wedge-shaped intersection of Central with Gross Point Road.
The plans call for an entrance and exit from the parking area onto Gross Point Road and an eastbound-only exit from the lot onto Central Street.
The new two-story, 22,416 square foot daycare center will require planned development approval from the city.
The current plans require site development allowances for the location of the parking lot and several other issues.
The DAPR meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Room G300 at the Civic Center.
