The Evanston Township High School board will review plans for next year’s international student trips Monday night.
Destinations include Canada, Central America, China and Europe.
Two groups of 20 students each will visit Antigua and Guatemala in June this year and next. The trips are sponsored by the World Languages/Bilingual Department.
Forty students will travel by bus to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada for a long weekend in September.
Up to 25 students will fly to Italy and Greece in February 2019. Besides touring sites and practicing language, students will complete assignments and maintain a trip blog journal.
Up to 20 students will visit China for two weeks in June 2019.
The trips range in cost from $700 to $4,290 per person. Scholarships are available for all trips. Students will use various fund-raising activities, including silent auctions, letter-writing campaigns and T-shirt sales, to help cover costs.
For trips held during the school year, students are expected to complete school work during travel periods and down time.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Room N112 at ETHS, 1600 Dodge Ave.
