The District 65 school board has released results of student tests that show improvement district-wide at all grade levels.
On reading tests scores improved to 79 percent passing at the third grade level, 76 percent at the fifth grade level and 83 percent at the eighth grade level.
Math scores improved to 89 percent passing at the third grade level, 87 percent passing at the fifth grade level and 87 percent passing at the eighth grade level.
All those numbers are up at least several percentage points from the previous year, and from the start of the testing program in 1999.
Scores for minority group students improved substantially, reducing the gap between their performance and the all-student numbers.
Data for individual schools were not included in the report. District officials said that’s because the state has not released final assessment results yet and numbers for the individual schools might still change.
