The winter season for two Evanston farmers markets gets under way this Saturday…at the Ecology Center and at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

The market at the Ecology Center, at 2023 McCormick Blvd., will be held each Saturday, from 8 a.m. until noon, from Dec. 2 through April 28, although there will be no market on Dec. 23 and 30.

The Immanuel Lutheran Church market, at 616 Lake St., will be held twice monthly, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., on Dec. 2 and 16, Jan. 13 and 27, Feb. 10 and 24, March 10 and 24, and April 7 and 21.

The not-for-profit Friends of Evanston Farmers Markets maintains a website on which organizers say they hope to maintain the ever-changing list of vendors throughout the winter season.

In an email to its supporters, Friends said it promises to “do our best to keep the info on that page fresh and up-to-date. The vendor list includes links for most of the participants, so you can get a good idea of what’s available at each market. Weather and other matters may cause last-minute changes in the market rosters, so our lists may not always match the reality 100%.”
