The City of Evanston reports that Main Street in Evanston is closed to traffic between Pitner and Dodge avenues in Evanston because of downed power lines.
ComEd crews are on the scene working to address the issue, which resulted from a truck coming into contact with overhead cables at Pitner Alley.
The road closure is expected to remain in effect into the overnight hours due to the extent of the required repairs.
Drivers can continue to access the Main Street shopping plaza from McCormick Boulevard, but through traffic on Main Street is not permitted.
