The Downtown Evanston Farmers’ Market kicks off its 39th year on Saturday featuring fresh and locally grown fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants, along with meat, cheese, eggs and bakery items.
The market will be open every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Nov. 8 at the intersection of University Place and Oak Avenue, behind the Hilton Garden Inn.
Parking is free in the adjacent Maple Avenue garage with ticket validation at the City of Evanston tent at the market.
LINK cards are accepted and reusable bags are sold on site. Popular canning and food preservation workshops will be back at the market again this year in June, July and August, with exact dates to be announced.
