Downtown sewer work this weekend

City officials say one lane on Orrington Avenue between Davis and Church streets will be closed for part of the weekend for sewer work.

City officials say one lane on Orrington Avenue between Davis and Church streets will be closed for part of the weekend for sewer work.

The work, closing the east traffic lane near the Chase Bank tower, will involve installing 50 feet of new sewer line from the tower building, at 1603 Orrington Ave., to hook up with the main sewer line in the street.

The lane is expected to be closed from 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.

A city news release say most of the work will be done overnight “with minimal noise disruption to area residents.”

Kenny Construction of Northbrook is the project contractor. Persons with questions about the work can call Patricia Schlauder or Jerry Hrabe at (847) 733-7200.
