Sherman Avenue will be closed downtown from Grove Street to Davis Street for construction work Saturday.

The property manager for the Rotary International building at 1560 Sherman Ave. says the closure is needed so a crane can be used to lift new air conditioning units into the building’s mechanical room.

The street will be closed from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Northbound traffic will be rerouted east on Grove to Chicago Avenue, north on Chicago to Davis and then west on Davis to Orrington Avenue.

Southbound traffic will be rerouted west on Davis to Oak Avenue, south on Oak to Grove and then east on Grove to Sherman.

In addition, on Friday and Saturday all parking meters on the west side of Sherman from Grove to Davis will be unavailable, and meters on the east side of Sherman will be unavailable on Saturday.
