Workman were disassembling and packing up the fixtures at Argo Tea at 1596 Sherman Ave. in downtown Evanston this morning.
The shop reportedly closed Sunday after eight years at the corner of Sherman Avenue and Davis Street.
No word yet on what may replace the shop that anchors the corner at the base of the Optima Towers condominium development.
The new restaurant Boltwood recently opened in what had been the LuLu’s restaurant space just to the west of the Argo storefront on the Davis Street side of the building.
Hopefully a Tilted Kilt….!
Hopefully a Tilted Kilt….! Seriously we need a good anchor that is geared toward libations.
Down that road before
Mike, we have been down the Tilted Kilt road already. The winning campaign to save the self esteem and chastity of our Evanston women and young girls still rings in my ears. Sorry bro you will just have to do your theme drinking outside of Evanston like the rest of us.
You can enjoy your libations
You can enjoy your libations without gratuitous sexual leering like a normal person. Because that's what those places are really all about. Take your misogyny elsewhere, like Niles. I will stay with the Celtic Knot.
Self righteousness
Self righteousness can be such an ugly thing.
