Whether to increase the minimum wage, and by how much, is an issue at the heart of the Illinois gubernatorial campaign as well as the lives of Illinois citizens and businesses.

The Democratic Party of Evanston has organized a panel discussion presenting several perspectives on this critical issue.

The session will be moderated by Emily E. LB. Twarog, PhD, Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign School of Labor and Employment Relations.

Panelists include John Bouman, president of the Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, and Adam Olson, regional advocacy director of Oxfam America.

The session will be held on Tuesday Sept. 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.

Bill Smith is the editor and publisher of Evanston Now.
