Criminal Damage

Callan at Brummel

The driver’s door of a 2018 Nissan was found spray-painted between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 6:50 p.m. Saturday near Callan Avenue and Brummel Street.

1900 Dempster

Someone broke a window pane at a restaurant in the 1900 block of Dempster Street around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

1800 Hovland

Someone bent the front license plate of a 2017 Nissan in the 1800 block of Hovland Court between 5 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

1425 Howard

Rashad A. Edwards, 41, of 4101 N. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1425 Howard St., Chicago, at 9:57 p.m. on April 8 and charged with criminal damage.

Graffiti

600 Brummel

Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 600 block of Brummel Street at 7:37 p.m.

Other

500 Howard

Police received a report of a man with a gun in the 500 block of Howard Street at 11:15 p.m. Friday. They checked the area but found no man with a gun.

Shots Heard

1900 Keeney

Gunshots were reported in the 1900 block of Keeney Street at 10:25 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Theft

2400 Main

Photographic equipment was stolen from a store in the 2400 block of Main Street at 1:42 p.m. Friday.

Miscellaneous merchandise was stolen from a store in the 2400 block of Main Street at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday.

2100 Central

Cash was taken while unsecured at a restaurant in the 2100 block of Central Street at 1:25 p.m. Saturday.

800 Clark

A purse, a laptop computer, and clothing were taken from an apartment in the 800 block of Clark Street between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on April 8.

1600 Davis

Justin M. Dinning, 19, of 762 Notre Dame Drive, Mason, Ohio, was arrested at 1600 Davis St. at 12:40 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on June 4 at 10:30 a.m.

2748 Green Bay

Mary P. Olson, 79, of 16 E. Lillian Ave., Arlington Heights, was arrested at 2748 Green Bay Road at 7:36 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on May 22 at 10:30 a.m.

1640 Chicago

Devan C. Tate, 27, of 714D W. Touhy Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1640 Chicago Ave. at 2:35 p.m. Saturday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on May 3 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

Davis at Dodge

Maurice D. Austin, 29, of 1716 Payne St., was arrested at Davis Street and Dodge Avenue at 7:41 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on May 3 at 9 a.m.

136 Callan

Chakubuta Kamangila, 28, of  116 Callan Ave., was arrested at 136 Callan Ave. at 3:32 a.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on May 22 at 10:30 a.m.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
