A 17-year-old Evanston youth is facing charges of drug dealing after police executed a search warrant on his home at 1219 Dodge Ave. Thursday night.

Cmdr. Tom Guenther says the department’s tactical and neighborhood enforcement teams carried out the raid aided by a police dog who helped them locate what Guenther says was a large amount of suspected cocaine and marijuana hidden in a bedroom along with digital scales and sandwich baggies commonly used to package narcotics, as well as over $13,000 in cash.

Police say the narcotics recovered had a street value of over $164,000.

Jorge C. Vega is now scheduled to appear Dec. 27 in Skokie district court to face felony charges of unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance.
