Evanston police say a middle-aged man walked into the Chicago’s Discount Cleaners store at 2108 Green Bay Road Tuesday morning with robbery on his mind.

The female clerk in the store told police the man grabbed money from the register, punched her in the shoulder and then fled the scene on a bicyle.

She told police the man was about 5-foot-11, and wore a black dress cap, black sport coat and black pants.

In an attempted robbery Tuesday afternoon, a man riding a Purple Line train near the Noyes station told police a teenage youth demanded money from him and then punched him, but fled without taking anything.
