Shots Heard

100 Callan

Gunshots were reported today at 4:10 a.m. in the 1000 block of Callan Avenue. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Battery

1900 Asbury

A male victim was shot in the ribs on the sidewalk in the 1900 block of Asbury Avenue at about 6:50 p.m. yesterday.

Burglary

1600 Sherman

Office equipment was taken from a retail establishment in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. yesterday.

Drugs

1454 Elmwood

Austin C. Okocha, 29, of 303 Ridge Ave., was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 7:25 p.m. yesterday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Theft

2600 Bennett

A package containing clothing items that had been delivered to an apartment common area in the 2600 block of Bennett Avenue was stolen at about 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
