Three Evanston Township High School alums are planning a food collection and distribution event at the school on Saturday, July 18.

Grace Sarkor says she and Parker English and Margaret Bamgbose plan to accept dropoff donations at the school’s parking Lot #1 on Dodge Avenue, with the entrance highlighted on the Google Maps image above, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and then distribute the food from the parking lot starting at 2 p.m.

In addition the trio are collaborating with Koi restaurant owner Sandy Chen, who plans to donate 3% of the restaurant’s profits from diners who mention the event between July 10 to 17 to the cause. Koi will also be donating 100 free meals to the event, English says.

Volunteers wearing masks and gloves will distribute the food and food donors and recipients will remain in their cars during the event, Sarkor says.
