Evanston Township High School is listed 25th among 670 Illinois high schools in terms of the share of graduates who are considered ready for college in new rankings issued today by U.S. News.
The publication says 54.2 percent of ETHS students are ready for college. That’s slightly less than some nearby suburban schools — including Glenbrook South, 55.8 percent, New Trier 55.4 percent and Highland Park 54.8 percent.
The highest college readiness score in the state was notched by Chicago’s Walter Payton College Prep at 93.4 percent, followed by several other selective Chicago public schools.
