Evanston Township High School is looking for a new principal. And based on the timeline, it does not appear they will be looking very far from the building.
Current Principal Marcus Campbell was named last week to replace Eric Witherspoon as superintendent. Campbell takes the top District 202 leadership position on July 1, following Witherspoon’s retirement.
Campbell’s assistant superintendent/high school principal position has now been posted on the ETHS jobs website.
Applications close on May 6, which does not seem like much time to solicit applicants from outside the present district staff, although interviews are part of the process.
So just as it was no surprise when Campbell was named superintendent, it may also not be surprising if another ETHS administrator takes Campbell’s place.
Whomever that may turn out to be, the new principal is also scheduled to start on July 1.
