Evanston Township High School moved up in the just released U.S. News list of high schools across the nation and in Illinois.

In the Illinois rankings ETHS was ranked 13th this year, up from 15th in 2015. Nationwide it placed at 452nd, up from 456th nationwide.

Looking at other suburban Chicago high schools that ranked higher than ETHS, Stevenson in Lincolnshire was ranked 5th, Deerfield 7th, Hinsdale 10th, Prospect in Mount Prospect 11th and Hersey in Arlington Heights 12th.

Traditional ETHS rival New Trier was ranked 22nd.

The Washington Post in its annual national report “America’s Most Challenging High Schools,” recently ranked Evanston Township High School as 10th in the state and in the top one percent in the country.

ETHS improved its position at both the state and national level from 17th in the state last year and moved up from  585th to 287th nationally.
