Evanston Township High School’s School Improvement Team is setting up an advisory committee to examine mixed-level classes as part of the school’s goal of engaging more students in honors and advanced-level work.
The committee will study and develop recommendations and will identify best practices currently being used in mixed-level classes as well as pitfalls to anticipate and avoid.
The committee will include parents and community members, teachers, students, and school leaders and will be ethnically, racially, socioeconomically, and geographically diverse. The group will represent the entire ETHS community.
The School Improvement Team is looking for people who care about the success of every ETHS student, who are open to learning about mixed-level classes, and who have the time to commit to meeting monthly during the school year for up to three years. Committee members are asked to serve for at least one year.
Candidates can apply online using the ETHS website. The pplication deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27.
