Evanston captured five first place finishes Saturday but settled for a second place finish overall in a triangular swim meet against state powers Hinsdale Central and Lake Forest.
Hinsdale Central outscored the Wildkits by a 119-114 margin, with Lake Forest third with 96 points.
Highlights for the Kits included a pair of season bests by Joe Seguine-Hall, who won the 200-yard freestyle race in 1 minute, 48.14 seconds and placed second in the 100 freestyle in 48.80.
Also scoring individual wins for ETHS were Ryan Knohl, 4:52.26 in the 500 freestyle; Christopher Russo, 22.58 in the 50 freestyle; and Maciej Olszewski, 1:01.49 in the 100 breaststroke.
The Evanston foursome of Knohl, Russo, Seguine-Hall and Christian Stankovic ruled the 400 freestyle relay in 3:15.32, just off their season best.
