Evanston’s 311 telephone information service was out of service most of this morning, due to what city officials say were “technical difficulties with the telephone service provider.” 

City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz said by e-mail about 11:15 a.m. that the service was back online.

The phone service normally is in operation from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

Most functions of the online version of the service were still available during the outage.
