Downtown Evanston is inviting local artists to join the downtown sidewalk sale event this summer.

Matt DiNello of Downtown Evanston says the artists, and live musical groups are being offered the opportunity to set up alongside downtown retail locations and in front of restaurants and service businesses to display their wares and one-of-a-kind artwork for the public to peruse, enjoy and purchase.

Evanston artists interested in displaying and selling paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculptures or photographs can contact the Downtown Evanston office at 847-866-6319 by Friday, June 29, to be considered.

There will be a $75 fee to participate and the artists are required to set up both Saturday, July 28, from  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

DiNello says the sidewalk sale draws customers from all over the north shore.
