The man known for operating the only Lincoln Town Car taxi service in Evanston has died.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Donald Hermanson, 74, died in Skokie Sunday after a two-month battle with cancer.

A graduate of the former St. George’s High School in Evanston, Hermanson was considered by his passengers to be a reliable, hard-working driver and a “bright, intellectual person.”
