Democratic Party of Evanston members will meet Sunday to select the party’s endorsed candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, State Representative, contested Cook County offices, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.
Participation in the meeting is open to all DPOE members. At the meeting, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church of Evanston, 1330 Ridge Ave., members have the opportunity to hear from candidates for each office before casting their ballots. Each vote is cast by secret ballot and candidates must obtain 66 percent of the ballots cast in order to receive the endorsement of the party.
At the conclusion of the event, members of DPOE’s Political Committee will tally the votes. Endorsement results will be posted to evanstondems.com as soon as they are available.
