That was substantially below the positive test rate for the Northeast Illinois region of 18.8%.

For the state as a whole there were 2,088 new cases for a total of 92,457 and 71 additional deaths for a total of 4,129.

The state reported conducting 23,587 COVID-19 tests today with 8.85% of those tests returning positive results.

All four regions of the state continue to meet metrics established by the governor’s Restore Illinois plan to move from Phase 2 to Phase 3 of the reopening plan on May 29.
