An 18-year-old Evanston man is facing an attempted first-degree murder murder charge following a weekend home invasion in Streamwood.

The Daily Herald reports  that Carmichael Nation and a 16-year-old juvenile from Schaumburg appeared in court Tuesday where a judge ordered them held on $250,000 bond.

The two, and a third man still being sought, are accused of entering a man’s Streamwood home Saturday morning, threatening him and then trying to steal a safe.

Prosecutors say Nation and the 16-year-old held the victim down while the third man stabbed him a half-dozen times.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition at St. Alexius Hospital.
