Evanston man dies in West Rogers Park shooting

A 39-year-old Evanston man was shot to death during what police say appears to have been domestic dispute in West Rogers Park late Monday night.

DNAInfo reports police responding to a shots fired call about 11 p.m. found Johan Jean, of the 100 block of Ashland Ave., lying in a gangway in the 6400 block of North Rockwell.

The Sun-Times quotes a source as saying the dispute between two women — one who has a child with Jean and the other his girlfriend — both of whom were armed — led to the shooting.

Jean, who had been shot in the neck was taken to St. Francise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.

Police were still investigating the shooting and no arrests had been made as of this morning.
