Evanston police say a 32-year-old Evanston man was shot about 10:30 p.m. Sunday while he was standing outside in the 2100 block of Darrow Avenue.
The victim told police a white vehicle drove by and someone in the car fired about four shots at him, one of which struck him in the thigh.
The victim was transported to Evanston Hospital where he was treated for his wound, which is not considered life threatening.
Officers recovered four 9mm shell casings from the street at the shooting scene.
Although the victim told police he will refuse to prosecute anyone in this incident, detectives are continuing with their investigation.
