Evanston Community Television has begun renovation work on its new offices and studio at Evanston’s municipal service center at 2020 Asbury St.

The non-profit group, which provides community training in video production and cablecasts local government meetings is moving because of budget cuts from rented space on Hartrey Avenue that it’s occupied since the early 1980s.

The old space closed on Saturday, May 26, and ECTV plans to be open in its new space on Monday, June 11 for check-outs of portable equipment.

On-site editing will be available later in June and the studio is expected to open in July.
