Evanston police say an 87-year-old man who fell asleep in his car at the Jewel shopping center on Howard Street early this morning was the victim of a carjacking.

Police say the man awoke about 2:15 a.m. to find a teenage white male knocking on his window.

The teenager then order the victim out of his car, and, aided by two other white male teens, forced him out of the car.

The trio then hopped into the car, which still had the keys in the ignition, and drove off.

The carjacking victim wasn’t injured. And his car, with some mionr damage, was recovered by Illinois State Police near the interesection of I-94 and I-55 on the south side of Chicago.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
