Another website thinks Evanston is pretty great. The city ranks 20th in Livability.com’s 2018 listing of the 100 best places to live.

The publication claims to have reviewed more than 2,100 cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000 in coming up with the list.

It describes Evanston as having a “thriving downtown district highlighted by three shopping areas, 90 restaurants, an 18-screen movie theater, several nightspots and 300 businesses.”

It also says, “The community ranks high in sustainability, with cooperative efforts by individuals, businesses and the local government.”

The top ratings in the list are filled with college towns. Ann Arbor, Michigan; Manhattan, Kansas; Corvallis, Oregon; Iowa City, Iowa, and Charlottesville, Virginia, hold the top five spots.
