A substantially greater share of Evanston residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19 than in most of Illinois.
Data from the Illinois Department of Public Health indicates 96% of Evanston residents 65 and over are fully vaccinated, as are more than half of residents between the ages of 12 and 64.
Comparisons with other parts of the state are somewhat more complicated this week, because while Evanston is reporting vaccinations of persons as young as 12, IDPH data indicates the other jurisdictions are reporting vaccinations only for persons 16 and up.
