Four runners from Evanston qualified for the United States Track and Field National Junior Olympics Nationals during regional competition held Sunday in Huntington, Ind.

Brad Garron, Reggie Murphy, Malachi Adams and Babajide Bamgbose all earned the right to advance to the Nationals after scoring top 5 finishes at the Region VII meet that featured runners from both Illinois and Indiana. The Nationals are set for July 21-27 in Humble, Texas.

Garron, a 14-year-old competing in the 15-16 age group, advanced in three events. He placed 2nd in the 200 meters in 22.85 seconds, qualified 3rd in the 400 in 52.76, and also advanced in the 100 with a 4th place time of 11.41.

Bamgbose raced to a 2nd place time of 16.36 in the 110 meter high hurdles, a personal best.

In the 17-18 age division, both Murphy and Adams qualified in the 100. Murphy ran a 10.97, good for 3rd place, while Adams was clocked in a personal best 11.12 and placed 5th.
