On Friday, March 29, the Levy Senior Center Foundation, as part of the Jamming Jean Musical Series, will sponsor a free concert in the Maple Room (main gym) of the Levy Senior Center (300 Dodge Ave., Evanston) featuring Lynne Jordan and the Shivers, a Chicago-based group who will be playing their favorite rhythm and blues standards.

The free concert is open to all ages and families are encouraged to attend. Gotta B Crepes will sell crepes on site at the show; wine and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase. The doors to the Maple Room will open at approximately 4:15 pm and the concert will start at 5 pm and conclude around 7 pm.

Judy Newton, Chair of the Levy Senior Center Foundation Board, is delighted the Jamming Jean Musical Series has been so well received by the community. She remarked, “The concerts we held in 2018 were fantastic! They each had great music and food, and a warmly enthusiastic crowd. I was so happy to see everyone, including kids with their grandparents, enjoying the music and even singing. It’s such a great way to start the weekend!”

The series started last year thanks to the anonymous bequest of a long-time Levy member. The donor asked that her bequest be used to “bring music to seniors in Evanston that reflects Evanston’s cultural diversity.” Come join in the fun on March 29!
