Edible Evanston will hold a free presentation and panel discussion March 12 on "Integrated Pest and Disease Management and Prevention" with horticulturalist Kim Ellson of the Illinois Extension Service.
Topics include steps you can take to prevent diseases and pests in your garden, identifying common problems, and organic solutions to common problems. A roundtable panel will join Ms. Ellson for a question and answer section. The workshop requires pre-registration at edibleevanston.org.
The panel will feature Matt Ryan, farm mamanger at The Talking Farm, Steve Neumann of Logic Lawn Care, an expert on organic turf and lawn management, and Bernie Ruckdaeschel, a long-time James Park community gardener.
The presentation is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, at the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.
