Northwestern ice rink now open

The Northwestern University Ice Rink is now ready for the 2017-2018 season.

Located on the east lawn of Norris University Center at 1999 Campus Drive, the rink is open from 12:30-10:00 p.m. on Sundays through Wednesdays, as well as 12:30-11:00 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays. Directions can be found here.

Before visiting the ice rink, be sure to fill out the online waiver. A completed waiver is a requirement for using the ice rink and renting skates, however, each waiver is good for the entirety of the 2017-2018 season, so it only needs to be done once.

Everyone is welcome to bring their own skates, but for those who do not own a pair, rentals are available from Norris Outdoors. Skate rentals cost $3.00 for all Northwestern students, $6.00 for all faculty, staff, and children under 13 years. For all other guests and community members, renting skates costs $9.00. Norris Outdoors is stationed inside of the Norris Center, next to the doors that lead out to the ice rink.

The rink will close for the season on Sunday, February 25. For more information about the ice rink, visit http://bit.ly/nuicerink. There will also be special events held periodically on Friday nights for members of the Northwestern community. To keep up with these opportunities, follow Norris Center on Facebook.
