The Evanston disaster recovery firm Hagerty Consulting has landed the former administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency as its new executive chairman.
Brock Long’s new job was first reported yesterday by Politico.
Long, who’s based in Hickory, North Carolina, had been an executive vice president at Hagerty before being named FEMA administrator in June 2017.
He resigned from the FEMA job in February, as Politico then noted, “after responding to some of the worst storms and wildfires to hit the United States in modern history but also coming under scrutiny for his use of official vehicles.”
Hagerty Consulting was founded by Evanston Mayor Steve Hagerty.
