It looks like Evanston city crews will just finish up cleaning up from Saturday’s snow storm when another one hits us on Tuesday.
Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says snow cleanup will continue today focusing on residential streets with crews plowing back parking spaces, corners and any other open locations. Crews are also touching up all of the City buildings, downtown sidewalks and parking lots.
Overnight, crews will begin cleaning and hauling away snow from the business districts to create accessibility to parking spaces and meters.
More snow is expected on Tuesday with some early estimates suggesting the new storm could deliver up to a half foot of snow.
Snow emergency and parking
The City did a disservice to it’s residents this weekend by calling off the odd/even parking. It’s already difficult to find open spaces with the snow prior to and from this weekend and now add another 6+ potential on Tues and another storm coming next weekend. Good job Evanston. I’m sure resources are tight, but parking is atrocious and will only get worse.
